Online viewing of Moonbot Studios short film!!!

I am currently working at Moonbot Studios and helped work on the short film: The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. The film will screen nationwide at Starbuck’s via their in-store WiFi. Our screening dates are anytime during Friday, May 27th – Monday, May 30th.

Go with a few friends, get a nice cup of coffee and enjoy a wonderful 15 minute animated short. Don't forget to bring a laptop!!!!!!

Even if you cannot attend, please show your support by adding your entire friend list (Here is the Facebook group) because we want the world to see what we can do. What is great about this is that it is only the beginning for Moonbot Studios and its amazingly talented group of artists.

Apple Bump for the Moonbot App!

With the release of Moonbot's new Interactive Storybook App getting near, Apple is excitedly sharing it with others at trade and promotional events as one of the top new innovative Apps utilizing the power of the iPad 2. Our App is set to release later this month, but for now you can read some kind words about it HERE, on the Silicon Valley Mercury News.

The other day at the Apple Store in San Francisco, team members offered this newspaper a sneak peek at some of the latest and coolest apps to come down the pike, including a few not yet released to the general public. Here are our favorite five: ... The problem with apps is that they increasingly defy description. Awesome Artbreak Animation Wall 2011!!

This is a video for a really cool project that was done at "Artbreak". Artbreak is a student arts festival held in Shreveport La it celebrates the art programs and artistic achievements of students in Caddo and Bossier Parish Schools.

This animation was done by Moonbot Studios in collaboration with the Robinson Film Center.

"This stop-motion animation project is the result of a collaboration between the Robinson Film Center, Moonbot Studios, and over 200 kids at Shreveport's annual Artbreak student art show. It was recorded over the course of 3 days.

The animation itself is comprised of 736 still images (or "frames") played back at 10 frames per second for 73.6 seconds of video (or 1 minute 14 seconds).

The process involved drawing, erasing, and redrawing a character over and over for each frame of the animation. So one second worth of animation would equate to ten separate drawings of the same character, gradually changing or moving in each iteration.

The wall itself was 60 feet long and 8 feet tall and we recorded the images on a Canon 7D that was mounted to a 60-foot homemade dolly track. Each shot was taken at one-inch intervals on the track so that when assembled, it would create the illusion of a moving dolly shot. So at 10 frames per second, it takes just over a second to move a foot on the dolly track."

The short film i worked on at @moonbotstudios has won the Audience Award for best short film, at the @FloridaFilmFest !!! Thank you to all who enjoyed viewing our short, we worked really hard and are extremely excited!!

Pokemon

So if my post about painting stuff for Warhammer 40k wasn't enough i figured i'd seal the deal and post Pokemon i drew, if there's any doubt of my nerdiness, surely it has evaporated.

40k Stuff

Just for the nerdyness of doing so, i'm also going to post some of the other projects i do (mainly painting Warhammer 40k Stuff.

I'm starting painting my Leman Russ, so to start slow on it i painted the turret and the executioner and demolisher cannon barrels just to kind of get back into painting models again, anyway, here are a couple pictures!

Monsters and puppets

Hello all, here are a couple of doodles did in the last couple of days, I wouldn't really call any of them done, even as pencil drawings. I want to ink them all eventually, but it's something i'm trying to learn a lot more about before i dive in and potentially wreck a drawing.

If you have any advice on inking or anything i'd love to hear it!
